Who Am I
Way' (hello) friend! My name is Alicia Edwards, and I am a graphic designer with a background in Public Health. I use she/her pronouns and am a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes in Washington state. My family is part of the Okanogan band. I grew up in Okanogan County, WA, mostly on my grandfather's quarter-horse ranch, where I spent most of my time outdoors with friends and family. I received a bachelor's and master’s degree in public health from Eastern Washington University. After graduating from EWU, I worked for some time at The Great Plains Tribal Leaders Health Board, The CDC Foundation, and The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board.
I am passionate about crafting visually appealing, culturally responsive graphics in all forms of media, from print to video and everything in between. With a formal education in health promotion and disease prevention, I seamlessly blend my knowledge and experience from the public health field into eye-catching and impactful designs.
Please feel free to explore my work and join me on this journey of creating designs that make an impact. If you want to learn anything else about me, reach out!

I started Turtle Island Media Group because there are not enough female Indigenous-Owned media companies. At Turtle Island Media Group, we believe in the power of collaboration. We're a small but mighty team (currently just me!) dedicated to creating impactful media. If you share our passion for authentic storytelling and design and want to be part of something special,
let's connect.
My process
Every design project is different but the phases outlined below are apart of every project in some way.
-
During discovery, I want to hear all of your ideas and learn your vision for your project.
-
During the design phase, I will create a set number of mockups (which we will agree upon) for you to review. We will go back and forth on what you like, and then I will work on putting together all of the project’s assets.
-
The final review phase is your chance to make any changes to your assets. Maybe you want to swap out a color or change a font. This is the time when we make those changes.
-
Dissemination is often the most important part of creating any kind of asset or media. I can help you plan and implement a dissemination plan for any project we work on.
